Core Feature

Payments & Checkout

See how direct XRPL payments differ from provider-backed card, bank, Mobile Money, and cryptocurrency-conversion routes.

How Payment Flow Works

1

Checkout Created

XRPay records the order amount, settlement asset, destination, expiration, and available payment configuration.

2

Customer Chooses a Method

Checkout shows the methods eligible for the customer, order, country, currency, and configured providers.

3

Payment Submitted

A wallet signs a direct XRPL transaction, or the selected card, bank, Mobile Money, or conversion provider begins its own payment flow.

4

Payment Verified

Direct XRPL payments typically confirm in 3–5 seconds. Provider-backed methods remain processing until their provider reports the required status.

5

Records Updated

XRPay updates the transaction and sends configured order-sync or webhook events after verification.

RLUSD Stablecoin

Ripple USD (RLUSD) is a US dollar-denominated stablecoin supported by XRPay for configured XRPL payments. Merchants need the correct trustline and should review the current issuer, reserve reports, liquidity, and applicable terms.

You can also accept XRP directly. Other checkout methods appear only when the customer and transaction qualify for the configured provider route.

Disputes, Reversals, and Refunds

A confirmed direct XRPL transfer does not use the card-network chargeback process. Merchants can still issue refunds, and provider-backed card, bank, and Mobile Money methods retain their own dispute, review, and reversal rules.

Direct XRPL Transfer

The wallet holder reviews and signs the transaction. A confirmed transfer cannot be reversed through a card-network chargeback.

Provider-Backed Method

The provider shown at checkout controls authorization, processing, disputes, reversals, and applicable fees.

Merchant Refund

A refund is a separate outbound payment recorded alongside the original transaction.
